Lichtenstein’s Bull Profile Series is a study in artistic form, showing a recognizable image of a bull and its steady progression into abstraction. The reduction of the bull to basic geometric parts is akin to the animal’s eventual butchered state. It is here that the transformation happens from one complete living animal to many segmented food items with names like flank, chuck, and sirloin.
